Stagetext
Stagetext is a charity established in 2000 that organise plays with subtitles. Their main vision for the future is to create a society where the deaf and hard of hearing can enjoy arts and entertainment like any other person. With Stagetext, text appears on a screen following what an actor or actress is saying, which allows the hearing impaired to follow the play even though they cannot hear it.
Some of Stagetext's captioned plays that have proven a huge success so far are Singing in the Rain, War Horse, Hamlet and Peter Pan. The development of captioned plays has revolutionised entertainment for the deaf and hard of hearing, it brings everyone together and prevents any feeling of isolation. With many more captioned plays on the horizon, Stagetext are surely set to be one of the most popular and inspirational charities around for the hearing impaired.
STTRs fully support the work of Stagetext; if you would like more information please call us today.
